Writing and Playwright-ing
I write scripts!
Mostly short plays, but I've dabbled in all types of scripts at one point or another (film, sketch, computer).
The following scripts have been "produced" (i.e. performed in front of paying strangers). If you've seen my work on stage, it must have been one of these:

Within A Show (Full-length play)

The Ultimate Play-Within-A-Play!
Think Noises Off meets Inception , mix in some [title of show] and garnish with everything from The Truman Show to Punch and Judy... and you've gotten maybe halfway through Act one.
And there's a lot more where that came from...
Full production:
TPS Theatre4, October 10-13, 2024
Previous versions:
CSz Seattle's Other Theater, December 2018 (script-in-hand workshop performance, full-length version)
The Pocket Theater, February 2018 (staged workshop reading, one-act version)
Ghostlight Theatricals' Battle of the Bards, February 2017 (20-minute version)

Hide and Go Seek - Part 1 (10-minute play)

Two siblings grapple with their parents' tumultuous relationship—and what it means for their own futures—playing out over the course of several decades.
Created specifically for 'Design Month', where all the plays were written based on set designs submitted by local artists. Part 1 was written for the set nicknamed "The Fortress of Solid Wood", which covered the stage in spiky wooden outcroppings.
(If you're wondering about the title, there is indeed a Part 2--written for the other set design, which looked like the inside of a massive blanket fort—but only Part 1 was ever actually produced.)
Produced at: The Pocket Theater, March 2015

The Second Chances of Macbeth (One-act play)

A comic riff on a classic tragedy--Shakespeare's sorry Scotsman gets a second chance (or nine) to earn his happy ending. But happiness is hard when you're a tragic hero. Can the ill-fated thane set things aright? Or is he doomed forever to repeat the past?
It's hard to find a venue for a 40-minute play these days. Luckily, a festival came along with exactly this in mind.
Produced at: The Eclectic Theatre Longer One-Act Festival, December 2014

photoBOMB! (Ensemble-devised one-act play)

Being an entirely accurate history of the cell phone camera, and the absolutely true story of a hipster and Amish farmgirl who team up to beat the devil in a world gone mad.
I had to work very hard to convince the powers-that-be to let me create a show through improv with the cast—then, immediately after convincing them, I finally discovered the term "devised theater", and suddenly successful professional examples were just a Google search away. Sigh...
Working title: This Space Intentionally Left Blank.
Produced at: "Gone Mad... Will Return" (PLU J-Term One-Act Festival), Jan. 2014

Staged Readings
Yikes, David (One-act play)

The Perfect Spot (10-minute play)
Sometimes you just find that perfect parking spot... what would you do to keep it?
The Capitol Hill Play Series was the second installment of the Seattle Play Series, which focused each year on a different Seattle neighborhood. The scripts were published as "The Capitol Hill Collection" (ISBN: 978-1522778493), making this my first published script.
